Okay I have been hearing that Computer Science and English are incompatible. I have to admit at the first thought of these two subjects you would think the two have nothing in common. Especially if one does not have personal experience with both. There are some similarities that you probably have not looked at.
Now I'm pretty sure we all know the subject English is based on the language English. If you major in it at college you will probably learn a little history about different countries through poems and stories that are ancient. Then you will take some courses that study different types of English writings like technical, rhetoric, advertising, and grant writing. Often writers write blogs, manuscript, novels, textbook, and basically anything you can read.
When you study computer science you are going to learn how to program using different computer languages. Some popular computer language that people study are Java, C++, JavaScript, and Python. Programmers utilize these languages to tell the computer what to do, create apps/programs, and express algorithms. If you study this at college you may have learn about different parts of the computer and study Computer Forensics (which is really cool). Programmers basically make texting possible, cellphone apps, and anything similar to what Bill Gates does.
Obviously you probably still do not see the similarities. Hopefully you haven't passed out from boredom because I am about enlighten you now. First they both involve writing. Yes, you can write both on paper or type the English language or a computer language. Next, they both focus on communication. Computer Science focuses on communicating to computer while English focuses on communicating to people. Thirdly, Computer science and English increases one's problem solving abilities by making one figure out how to be more accurate and precise. The most important thing in writing is figuring out how to accurately tell your audience a message. This requires problem solving skills because the writer must come up with a way to their audience to understand. I'm sure most of you know problem solving is big in programming (if you don't know, you do now). Like math equations the language has to be completely right in order for the computer to understand it. Not one single thing can be messed up. Lastly, is the biggest thing in writing and that is creativity. Yes, studying English and Computer Science teaches creativity. One can do anything they can think with the skills of writing or programming. Writers can create things that help, educate, persuade, or entertain you. Programmer, can create thing that make life easier, educate, or assist people.
Do you still think English and Computer Science have nothing in common?

17 and Not Really Pregnant!
If you asked most teen girls if they would choose to be a pregnant in high school, they would probably say not in a million years. Gaby Rodriguez is definitely not one of these type of high school girls. The straight A student pretended to be pregnant for six months by first wearing baggy clothes then strapping on fake bellies to give her the look of a six month pregnant girl. No one knew that the girl was not really pregnant except for her mother, boyfriend, and principal. Even the girls siblings and friends thought she was pregnant! Gaby finally revealed she was not pregnant after stripping her belly off at a school assembly.
Why would she put herself through all that? Because Gaby was conducting an experiment about what it would be like to be pregnant. She wanted to know how people she knew would treat her if she was pregnant. The girl found that some of her friends alienated her and her classmates made several rumors about her. Her social status went down a lot through the six months. She said some students made her even feel alone and ashamed. But the entire body of her school mouth's dropped as she pulled the stuffing from her shirt.
Took a lot of courage for her to do what she did. But the only way to know what someone else is going through is to literally walk in their shoes.

My Crazy Substitute Teacher
There's always that one sub teacher who makes you wonder if your principal was on crack when he allowed them to take over your class.
I sat in my desk with my hands behind my head and my legs propped up on top of the desk. I was in seventh period, the last class of the day on a Friday. To make it even sweeter my nice math teacher Mr. Beans taught it.
Mr. Beans didn't care if we were walking on the ceiling of the walls as long as we turned our work in. You could do almost anything in his class and today I planned on doing just that. My friend Marshall who sat in front of me brought two silly spray cans for us both to spray at the class. Usually I was the teacher's pet who got prank but today it's pay back time for these teenagers.
One of the teacher's across the hall came into the door way of our class and said, "Mr. Beans had to go to an important meeting so his brother will take his place today."
I put my legs back on the ground and sat up straight. Marshall turned around to look talk to me.
"You know this means we get to do easy worksheets and have free time Duby Dee," Marshall said.
"I know, did you bring the......... you know?" I asked
"I sure did," he said in a low whisper.
He reached into the inside of his coat and sneakily dropped a can of silly spray into my hand bag, which was sitting on the floor beside me.
I thought to myself, maybe Mr. Beans brother will be laid back like him.
A skinny man with a beard and thick eyebrows walked into the front of the class. He wore a long brown trench coat and a black hat. If this was Mr. Beans brother he sure didn't look like him because Mr. Beans was fat and clean shaved.
"I'm your teacher's brother and I will be taking over today. My name is Mitsy....." He was interrupted by laughs.
A boy name Andre said, "I wouldn't have guess that would be your name. Your momma must have came up with that name before she saw you."
Everyone in the whole class laugh.
"Can you please quiet down?"
"Ugly as you are, they should of know from the Ultrasound you were not a girl," a guy yelled from the back of the class.
The class couldn't hear him because they were laughing so hard. I promise you if I saw anything coming I didn't see what's going to happen next. Mitsy reach into his trench coat and pulled out a gun pointing it straight at the ceiling. He shot the ceiling two times. Dust fell from the like snowflakes falling onto his head and the floor.
The whole class didn't just get quiet it froze. A girl who was putting on her makeup sat there with the mascara brush in the same position. Some People mouths were still open from laughing.
"Now that I have all of your attentions, I would like you to know your teacher left you some book work to do," he said.
Mitsy began writing the page numbers of our assignment so calmly on the board, he made shooting a gun in class look normal! A teacher knocked on our classroom door and Mitsy opened the door to speak to them.
"I could of sworn I a heard a loud noise come from this classroom. Is everything okay?"
"I assure you it is, there was a bit of miss understanding between me and the students, so I just blew the horn to get the class in control," he said.
"That sounded like a gun shot Sir," he said.
"Well it actually does sound like a gun. Um....let me give you a demonstration," Mitsy said.
He pulled something from his coat that resembled the horn people used at a football game to cheer for their favorite team. He press a button on the horn and sure enough it made a sound similar to a gun.
"See, it's just a little horn I use it to get students attention," Mitsy said.
"That thing you shot a few minutes ago sure didn't look like no horn," a student said.
"Yeah I thought it was a gun too."
"It scared me so bad I didn't move till the other teacher walked in."
"Well look it's just a horn so there's nothing to worry about." Mitsy said.
"Okay, I guess you have everything under control." The other techer said.
The teacher left the classroom and the sub shut the door behind him. He turned around towards to class and smiled for the very first time since he'd been in the class.
"I think we all got off on a bad start. Lets start from a fresh slate," Mitsy said.

Ten Ways to get over Depression
These are ten real things I did to overcome my depression.
1. Mentally Defeat Problems
Have you ever punch a wall when you were upset about something? And after you punched the wall you felt good. Believe it or not this is one of the best ways to let go of bad stress inside your body. When you punch the wall you see it as-the problem making you depressed and after you punch it goes away.(I recommend punching a pillow because of safety).
2. Never Blame Yourself
I've come to learn that blaming myself for being depress makes me even more depressed. Let's face it, if you're like me the last thing you need is more negativity.
3. Chocolate
Eating chocolate can make you feel happier.
4. Eat Healthy
Eating foods full of nutrients can make you feel more energize and happy.
5. Exercise
You don't have to go to the gym or become muscle freak. Just do a few jumping jacks and run once in awhile. It will take your mind off anything bothering you.
6. Fresh air
Nothing better than mother earth. Go outside and take several deep breaths. This was very effective when I felt suicidal.
7. Sleep
I know sleeping is one of the hardest things to do when you are depressed. But not getting enough sleep can make a happy person unhappy. So if you have to ask your doctor about taking sleeping pills.
8. Talk
Talk to someone about your problems. Another person can always give you support and help you find solutions.
9. Positive
Make yourself feel better by treating yourself nice. It may be by buying yourself new clothes, watching a comedy show, or doing whatever puts a smile on your face.
10. Love
Do something nice for others. Help the ones who need you. And most of all show love to your other fellow depressors.

How to become Better at Studying
Studying is not an easy thing to do but here are a few strategies that may help you.
-Turn on some music while your studying. Preferably music that is calming, soft, and soothing to your ears. The music will make you feel less stress and help you concentrate better on what you are doing.
-Drinking lots of water can increase your memory and make your tired mind feel refresh after studying for long periods of time.
-Don't completely tire your brain out. Take breaks whenever needed then come back.
-If you hate reading those boring text books just look up a youtube video about it. There you could watch an instructor guide you through your subject.
-Invite a friend who's studying a similar subject. She or he could help you study, which could be more fun than studying alone.
-It's always good have a good night's sleep. Sleeping also eliminates stress and energizes your body.

Seven simple ways to become more outgoing
I'm typically talkative around the ones I know but very shy around new people.
Here are small simple things I did to bring me out of my shell.
1. Say Hello
By simply saying hello to complete strangers can increase your ability of talking to new people.
2. Put On a Happy Face
A pretty smile makes you appear to be a happy person and it also makes you look more attractive. More people will feel comfortable talking to you, which will also help you feel less nervous talking back.
3. Join In a Conversation
If you here a group of people speaking on a subject you know a lot. Try to join in the conversation by giving your knowledge on the subject. After all it's much easier to talk about something you know a lot about.
4. Speak Clearly
There's nothing worse than a soft squeaky low voice that can't be heard. I know it's hard to for you to control your body when you get nervous. But if your voice sounds weird or unclear people are bound to laugh at you or become nervous their self. So speak clearly where you can be understood.
5. Relax
Once I got really nervous when I had to get up in front of a class to speak. The muscles in my body began to feel stiff so I moved my arms a little when I talked and occasionally walked a little. This made my body feel less tense and helped me relax.
6. Don't Think
A lot of times I found it easier to speak to people if I said exactly what I wanted to say to them without doing a whole lot of thinking about how I was going to say it.
