Seven simple ways to become more outgoing

I'm typically talkative around the ones I know but very shy around new people.
Here are small simple things I did to bring me out of my shell.

1. Say Hello
By simply saying hello to complete strangers can increase your ability of talking to new people.
2. Put On a Happy Face
A pretty smile makes you appear to be a happy person and it also makes you look more attractive. More people will feel comfortable talking to you, which will also help you feel less nervous talking back.
3. Join In a Conversation
If you here a group of people speaking on a subject you know a lot. Try to join in the conversation by giving your knowledge on the subject. After all it's much easier to talk about something you know a lot about.
4. Speak Clearly
There's nothing worse than a soft squeaky low voice that can't be heard. I know it's hard to for you to control your body when you get nervous. But if your voice sounds weird or unclear people are bound to laugh at you or become nervous their self. So speak clearly where you can be understood.
5. Relax
Once I got really nervous when I had to get up in front of a class to speak. The muscles in my body began to feel stiff so I moved my arms a little when I talked and occasionally walked a little. This made my body feel less tense and helped me relax.
6. Don't Think
A lot of times I found it easier to speak to people if I said exactly what I wanted to say to them without doing a whole lot of thinking about how I was going to say it.
